A Robert Trent Jones Snr. design, voted one of the top 5 courses in Spain.
It nestles in a pine forested hillside with generous fairways and narrow, elevated greens.
A wonderfully spacious course, making for a very quiet, relaxing round.
El Bosque is closed to members of the public on weekends and public holidays.
4 El Saler Golf Club
18 holes, Par 72, 6355 metres
A truly unique course, with twelve holes carving their way through a densely vegetated nature reserve, while the remaining six run links style through the sand dunes on the Mediterranean coast.
El Saler has been voted the second best course in Spain, losing out on the top spot to Valderama.
If you are staying in the area, El Saler is an experience not to be missed.
5 Oliva Nova Golf Club
18 holes, Par 72, 6270 metres
Oliva Nova has been voted as Seve Ballesteros' best design. Its notable feature being the water hazards which come into play on 15 of the holes.
Although it is a relatively young course, the maintenance is to such a high standard that it has already hosted many prestigious tournaments.
6 La Sella Golf Club
18 holes, Par 72, 6289 metres
Set in the scenic, protected environment of the Montgo Nature reserve, La Sella is a very mature, well maintained course.
The variety of holes make the course both interesting and challenging to golfers of all standards.
Nine of the holes were designed by Jose Maria Olazabel, with a further nine holes currently being added to take the total up to twenty-seven.
7 Bonalba Golf Club
18 holes, Par 72, 6367 metres
Situated in the Bonalba Mountains overlooking the Mediterranean, the main features of this course are the large number of strategically placed bunkers, and the massive greens.
8 Alicante Golf Club
18 holes, Par 72, 6278 metres
Another Severiano Ballesteros designed course which has the unusual feature of having 6 par fives, 6 par fours and 6 par threes. The fairways are wide, although water hazards frequently come into play.
Alicante golf is maintained to the highest standard, and is the only course were buggies are free of charge.
9 Alenda Golf Club
18 holes, Par 72, 6257 metres
An entertaining course set in the mountainside just outside Alicante.
Its sloping fairways are wonderfully complimented by the fantastic split level greens. Alenda offers a well balanced round for golfers of all abilities.
We strongly recommend the hire of buggies at this course.
10 El Plantio Golf Club
18 holes, Par 72, 6302 metres
Opened in 2000, this is one of the areas newer courses. A beautifully designed, well maintained layout set in peaceful surroundings with an abundance of vegetation.
All of the facilities at El Plantio are equally as well designed and maintained as the course.
El Plantio is very close to Alicante city centre as well as the AP-7 motorway and the airport.
This is one of our highly recommended golf courses.
11 La Marquesa Golf Club
18 holes, Par 72, 6111 metres
Located in a valley between 2 mountains, the majority of this course is quite flat and relatively forgiving making it a better choice for higher handicappers.
12 La Finca Golf Club
18 holes, Par 72, 6394 metres
La Finca is another of the Costa Blanca's newer courses, opening in 2001 it has quickly become known as one of the most spectacular courses in the region.
It has a remarkable layout, with the incredible greens and the unusual design of some of the bunkers being the most memorable features.
13 Villamartin Golf Club
18 holes, Par 72, 6132 metres
Villamartin is one of the regions better known courses, cleverly designed to make full use of the natural features in the picturesque hillside setting.
There are several hazards that players need to be careful of, but generally Villamartin is a course that suits players of all abilities.
14 Las Ramblas Golf Club
18 holes, Par 72, 5914 metres
With some spectacular scenery this is another hilly course featuring several elevated tees and narrow fairways.
The rivers that weave throughout Las Ramblas are nearly always in play, and often require players to take on difficult shots. However it is not a long course and cautious play is often rewarded.
15 Campoamor Golf Club
18 holes, Par 72, 6209 metres
Campoamor has undergone extensive work throughout 2005, with much of the course having been dug up and re-layed.
The generous fairways make this course suitable for all standards of player, a notable feature being a couple of reachable par 4's for the big hitters!
16 Altorreal Golf Club
18 holes, Par 72, 6239 metre
A very diverse design set in rolling hills, Altorreal is loaded with well placed hazards.
Some of the holes head straight up a very steep hill, for this reason we would recommend players hire a buggy when playing here.
17 Real de Faula
Newly opened championship course situated in the hills above Benidorm.
The sloping, tight fairways require accuracy from the tee, to leave you with a shot into the manicured greens. Not a course for the faint-hearted.
